This was the most professional travel experience I have ever had. Nomadic Rigs are OUTSTANDING hosts. I arrived to the truck and they gave me a complete and thorough tour of every detail of the unit. They are super keen on safety and efficiency, so wanted to make sure I had every bit of info I needed for a great trip.
The truck was INCREDIBLE to drive. clean, modern and FULLY stocked with everything one might need on a camping trip. I am usually used to having to buy little things like rope, toilet paper, etc - but this ride had EVERYTHING i needed so i could just enjoy my time on the road. The bed was SO comfortable and sleeping in the scout was super relaxing. This was the most fun i've ever had on a vacation - because this rental was TOP NOTCH, loaded and ready for adventure. Thank you Nomadic Rigs for a five star experience.

There is no drive in North America quite like the Sea-to-Sky Highway (Highway 99). Winding along the dramatic coastline of Howe Sound before climbing into the rugged Coast Mountains, this route is a bucket-list adventure for any overlander. But while summer brings throngs of tourists and packed campsites, spring is the secret season for truck camper travelers.
At Nomadic Rigs, we believe the best way to experience the Sea-to-Sky corridor is in a fully equipped hard-sided truck camper. Here is your ultimate 7-day spring road trip itinerary from Vancouver through Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton, complete with hidden gems and our exclusive guide to making your trip go viral on Instagram.
Before we dive into the itinerary, let’s talk about why you should book this trip in April, May, or early June rather than waiting for July.
1.Waterfall Season: Spring snowmelt means the waterfalls along the route (like Shannon Falls and Brandywine Falls) are roaring at their absolute peak volume.
2.Beat the Crowds: Summer in Whistler and Squamish is notoriously busy. In spring, you'll have hiking trails and viewpoints largely to yourself.
3.Campsite Availability: Finding a spot at popular recreation sites in July is like winning the lottery. In spring, you can easily snag prime waterfront spots for your Nomadic Rig.
4.The "Two-Season" Phenomenon: In spring, you can paddleboard on a glassy lake in Squamish in the morning, and ski spring corn snow in Whistler in the afternoon.
5.Mountain Pass Safety: While high alpine passes in the deep interior are still hazardous in spring, the Sea-to-Sky corridor is generally clear, well-maintained, and safe for truck campers.

Pick up your Nomadic Rig in Vancouver and hit Highway 99 northbound. The drive to Squamish is only about an hour, but you'll want to take your time.
•Must-Do Stop: Porteau Cove Provincial Park. Pull the truck camper right up to the oceanfront.
•Hidden Gem: Tunnel Point viewpoint. Just before Lions Bay, this unmarked pullout offers one of the best unobstructed views of Howe Sound.
•Camping: Paradise Valley Campground or the Squamish Riverside rec sites.
Squamish is a mecca for rock climbing, mountain biking, and hiking.
•Must-Do Stop: The Sea to Sky Gondola and a hike up the Stawamus Chief.
•Hidden Gem: The Squamish Estuary. Take your morning coffee out of the truck camper and watch for bald eagles and seals in the quiet morning mist.
•Camping: Stay a second night in the Squamish Valley to fully explore the area.
Continue north as the highway climbs into the Coast Mountains.
•Must-Do Stop: Brandywine Falls Provincial Park. In spring, this 70-meter waterfall is thunderous and spectacular.
•Hidden Gem: Alexander Falls. Often bypassed for Brandywine, this tiered waterfall is tucked away in the Callaghan Valley and is absolutely stunning in the spring snowmelt.
•Camping: Riverside Resort in Whistler or the Cal-Cheak Recreation Site.
Whistler isn't just a ski town; it's a vibrant mountain village with incredible spring access.
•Must-Do Stop: The Valley Trail network. Rent a bike or walk the paved trails connecting Whistler's pristine alpine lakes.
•Hidden Gem: Loggers Lake. A short hike takes you to this secluded lake hidden inside a volcanic crater.
•Camping: Whistler RV Park.
Drive 30 minutes north to Pemberton, where the mountains open up into a lush, agricultural valley dominated by the imposing Mount Currie.
•Must-Do Stop: Nairn Falls Provincial Park. Another spectacular spring waterfall just south of town.
•Hidden Gem: North Arm Farm. Stop in for fresh spring produce, local baked goods, and the best view of Mount Currie in the valley.
•Camping: Owl Creek Recreation Site. It's quieter than the spots on Lillooet Lake and offers a true off-grid truck camper experience.
Use your 4x4 Nomadic Rig to explore the rugged backcountry around Pemberton.
•Must-Do Stop: Joffre Lakes Provincial Park (check spring trail conditions, as snow may persist).
•Hidden Gem: Sloquet Hot Springs. About 3 hours from Pemberton down logging roads (perfect for your truck camper), these natural hot springs are a rustic, magical spring experience.
•Camping: Camp right at the Sloquet Hot Springs recreation site.
Take the morning to soak in the mountain air before beginning the spectacular drive south. The views heading south on the Sea-to-Sky are completely different, offering sweeping vistas of the ocean as you descend back into Vancouver to return your rig.
